The anti-leukemic activity of a four-plant mixture in a leukemic rat model

Leukemic rats taking the essiac based plant mixture showed significant recovery from weight loss, improved white-blood cell count and a blast cell reduction by one-third. The reduction in S1PR1 gene expression that occurs in leukemic cells was also markedly improved.
In conclusion, the four-plant-mixture of essiac showed promising results on experimentally induced leukemia in test rats and therefore can be thought of as a potential aid to chemotherapy in patients with leukemia.
