
Safety of 8-weeks oral administration of Arctium lappa L
The purpose of this study was to determine the safety of Arctium lappa (burdock root) when taken orally. Even though a food is considered nutritional and may be a staple food, overconsumption could be an issue and should periodically be examined and tested. The researchers concluded that Arctium lappa had no harmful effects on the mice in their study and in fact there was some observable therapeutic effects related to weight and the suppression of blood glucose levels.
